Before Dimple Surgery Procedure

Dimple surgery is not a necessary medical surgery, so it is recommended to discuss with your plastic surgeon about cons and pros of this surgery. Like many other surgeries, you must follow some instructions as below:

- Do not eat or drink anything for at least 6 hours prior to surgery
- Stop smoking at least 2 weeks before and after surgery
- Avoid drinking 1 week prior to surgery
- Do not wear any lenses, jewelry, makeup, and nail polish on the day of surgery
Strictly follow your doctor’s instructions on mouth care for at least 2 weeks prior to and after surgery
Dimple Surgery Procedure

In a dimple surgery procedure, the surgeon makes incisions inside the mouth and then creates dimples in the cheek muscle. This plastic surgery involves forming a dimple with the creation of scar tissue in the dermis between the muscles of the face on the desired spot and removing a small amount of tissue by using small instruments and incisions.
Dimple surgery is an outpatient surgery that takes about 30 minutes; so, you don’t need an overnight stay in the hospital. Dimple creation surgery will be performed under local anesthesia.
Dimple Surgery Recovery Period

You will be given some instructions on how to care for the incisions when you are released from the hospital. You may experience pain, fever, or drainage after the surgery for a few days which is normal. If these complications last more or increase, you should report to the hospital or surgeon immediately. You can wash your ear as normal 2 days after the surgery. you should be careful about the incisions when you are changing your clothes. Your follow-up appointment will be arranged for 1 week after your surgery.
