Itinerary

Day 1

Depending on your arrival, you will be welcomed at airport by our guide, then you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel*. Checking into the hotel; according to schedule you will be Transferred from hotel to clinic or hospital to visit the doctor; Pre-op tests/images; Transfer from clinic to hotel.

Important note:

If you arrive late afternoon or early morning, you should inform us before your flight, so 1 day more will be added to your itinerary and the quotation will vary.

Day 2

According to appointment schedule, you will be transferred to hospital; doing preparations for surgery; conversation between doctor & patient, reviewing the expectations; Performing of surgery; post-op recovery at hospital; taking doctor’s instructions; Hair transplant area is bandaged if needed; transfer to your hotel.

Day 3

You will be transferred to clinic for bandage removal; then transfer from clinic to your hotel to rest.

Day 4

According to your flight departure, you will be transferred from your hotel to international airport by KIATREAT’s driver; before transferring to airport, you can visit KIATREAT office* and talk to customer relationship management about your trip to Iran and treatment schedule. Things to know about Hair Transplant

Before Hair Transplant

There are some important issues to know and keep in your mind before you go through hair transplant surgery including:

- It is important to know that a transplant will not give you a full head of hair if you don’t have much hair.
- In General, thick hair that is light colored or grey gives better results than hair that is thin and dark colored.
- It takes to 9 months following hair transplantation that the hair takes root and begins to fill in.
- You should quit smoking for several weeks before and after the surgery as smoking increases the risk of complications from surgery.
- There may be required to continue medical treatment after hair transplant surgery.

After Hair Transplant

Your feelings after hair transplant depend on the extent of surgery. But generally, after the operation, you will experience numbness, bruising and swelling, pain, discomfort, throbbing and a tight feeling in the scalp. You have to wear dressings or bandages for few days.

There are some aftercare tips as follows:

- For washing your hair, you should wait a few days after the surgery. Only use mild shampoos for the first few weeks.
- You normally can return to work or normal activities in about 3 days.
- Don’t press a brush or comb down over the new grafts for about 3 weeks.
- Don’t wear any hats or pullover shirts and jackets until your doctor says it’s OK.
- No physical exercise for about a week

It is very important to know that some of the transplanted hairs will fall out. This is part of the process. Within 2 to 3 weeks after surgery, the transplanted hair will fall out, but you should start to notice new growth within a few months.

After the hair transplant, you must follow the following instructions. It seems crucial to obey these instructions, but it is a part of your treatment procedure.
This includes the way you sleep as well as washing the hair with shampoo with the detailed instructions. About 3 to 6 months, you need use some medications and shampoo which are prescribed by the surgeon and it is the patient responsibility to take care of them.

Avoiding the instructions just as said above might result in defects which are the patient’s responsibility.

The surgeon will consider some parameters such as thickness of your hair stands to choose the appropriate method for your case. So, the first appointment with the doctor is very important.

Complications of Hair Transplant Surgery

All surgeries carry some degree of risk. Your medical background or lifestyle can increase the risk of certain complications. So, you need to consult with your surgeon in advance. We have listed some of the possible complications of hair transplant surgery as below:

- surgical risks such as bleeding or infection
- risks of general anaesthesia, including allergic reaction, which may (rarely) be fatal
- nerve damage, including permanent loss of sensation
- scars that may be severe, raised, reddened and itchy

Recovery

After the hair transplant, your scalp may be very tender and you feel pain or soreness at the transplant area and even the area where hair has been taken from. So, your surgeon will prescribe you pain killers and also antibiotic or an anti-inflammatory to take for several days. Medications such as finasteride (Propecia) or minoxidil (Rogaine) to help stimulate hair growth. Once the surgery is done, the area may be swollen, so you may receive an injection of triamcinolone into the area to keep the swelling down.

You should wear bandages over your scalp for at least a day or two. You can normally return to work 3 to 5 days after the operation.

FUT and FUE may each take several hours to several days to complete. You will go home the same day of the procedure.
