Neck Lift Procedure

Nick lift surgery is an outpatient surgery and takes several hours about 2-3 hours.

The surgeon makes small incisions around and behind the ear and a very small one under the chin. Depending on the degree of change and the type of neck lift, the type of incision will vary:

a traditional neck lift incision or a limited incision neck lift.

Neck Lift Procedure

A traditional neck lift incision often begins in the hairline at the level of the sideburn, continues down and around the ear, and ends in the posterior hair. A separate incision under the chin is often necessary for liposuction of this area and for the repair of the muscle. The surgeon will tighten the platysma muscles in the neck and remove extra skin and fat and the tissue underlying the neck skin is repositioned. Fat may be sculpted or redistributed from the jowls and neck. Skin is redraped over the uplifted contours and excess skin is trimmed away. A separate incision under the chin is often necessary for liposuction of this area and for the repair of the muscle.

A limited incision in neck lift may involve incisions only around the ear. While the incisions are shorter, the results may be more limited. The incisions will be closed by sutures or skin adhesives.

The procedure will be performed under intravenous sedation and general anesthesia to comfort you during the surgical procedure.
